Junior programme for Primary School children ages 7 – 11.

Junior programme for Primary School children ages 6 – 11. This programme provides a safe and engaging space for younger students to keep up with their academics by providing tailored support in Mathematics and Language Arts, including a special day dedicated to reading activities. Designed for primary school students in Classes 1 to 4, this programme offers personalised attention to meet each child’s specific needs in an engaging and structured environment.  Our experienced teachers provide support to the students to achieve their academic potential. We create a safe space where strongEarly Childhood Education values are reinforced, allowing for the building of confidence, character, and friendships”.  All sessions are held during each school term Monday – Friday from 3:30 pm to 5:00 pm, at the YMCA on Pinfold Street. The fee for this programme is $10 weekly and registration is available using the form online or with a physical form at the office.

Young Leaders Programme for Secondary School ages 12 – 17

Young Leaders Programme for Secondary School ages 12 – 17. This is a comprehensive after-school initiative that caters to the unique needs of secondary school students. It is designed to empower them with the skills and knowledge needed to thrive as future leaders. This exciting programme equips participants with a valuable toolkit encompassing communication, critical thinking, soft skills development, conflict resolution techniques, career planning, and financial literacy. Students also promote altruism and social responsibility by completing a community service project that benefits the local area. Teamwork and communication are strengthened with the collaborative outdoor adventure hike organized by Blazing Trails Association.

Youth and Sports – Sports development

The Y is committed to empowering children and youth to lead healthy, active lifestyles. By focusing on our youth, we are investing in the future health and well-being of our community. Sports participation promotes physical activity and fosters a love for physical fitness from a young age, reducing the risk of obesity and chronic non-communicable diseases. Our sports programmes also focus on building character, developing self-confidence, creating positive relationships, and building healthy habits from the inside out. 

Football and Basketball are the sports currently offered.

Y Day Camps

Through our Summer, Easter and Christmas camps at the Y, we create a space for youth to laugh, learn, lead and make lasting friendships. Our camps cater to children aged 7 to 13 and ensure that they engage in thoughtfully planned, supervised activities that provide opportunities to learn tools and develop skills that can help lead them to a higher quality of life. Our counsellors deliver meaningful, memorable experiences that keep our children and make them want to return year after year.
All our camps include a sports component for campers which includes Cricket, Football, Netball and more! By providing a strong foundation and fostering a love for sports, we hope to see our participants go further by joining our full sports programme! Along with our outdoor activities we also have a variety of indoor activities for campers to participate in, including Arts and Crafts, Jewelery Making, Tie-Dye, and much more.
